Plant-based cooking is colorful and versatile! Believe it or not, you can turn one of the humblest vegetables into a mouthwatering cauliflower steak. We’ve enveloped it with our signature Protein Flakes, which bake up into a crispy, spiced, and best of all, nutritious coating. It keeps the cauliflower’s juices in, so the whole thing melts in your mouth bite by bite. This vegan recipe will win over even the most dedicated of meat-lovers.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  • Remove the leaves from the cauliflower. Only cut the stem far enough up for the head of cauliflower to stand up straight and stable on your cutting board.
  • Cut 3 wide steaks from the middle of the cauliflower. Remove the remaining smaller pieces and use in other recipes.
  • Pour the oat milk into a wide dish.
  • Measure the Protein Flakes into another wide dish. Stir in the salt, paprika, curry powder, and garlic powder.
  • Now dip each of the steaks first into the oat milk - making sure it's fully coated - and then coat with the spiced Protein Flakes.
  • Lay each cauliflower steak on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until crispy. Serve the steaks onto a plate and garnish with parsley and a lemon wedge.
  • Enjoy!

Our Tip

You can make vegan steaks with all kinds of vegetables. After you've made a cauliflower steak, why not try kohlrabi, eggplant (aubergine), zucchini (courgette), or celeriac?
