You will need

240 g dark chocolate
80 ml coconut milk
2 bags chai
6 pods cardamom
1 stick cinnamon
0.5 tsp cloves
1 star anise
1 cm ginger, grated

Vegan Chocolate Chai Truffles

a tiny, tasty, spicy treat

We’ve always got a couple of extra snacks around at home in case we get unexpected visitors. This year we’ll be spoiling them with a batch of spiced chocolate chai truffles.

Preparation

  • Ingredients:
    80 ml coconut milk, 6  cardamom pods, 1 stick cinnamon, 0.5 tsp cloves, 1  star anise, 1 cm ginger, grated, 2 teabags chai
    Put the coconut milk into a pot with the spices. Bring to a boil. Add the teabag and reduce the heat.
  • Simmer the coconut milk on low heat for 5-7 minutes. Then remove the teabags and the spices.
  • Ingredients:
    240 g dark chocolate, 2 tbsp Vegan Protein Cream Hazelnut
    Prepare a double boiler of a heatproof bowl set on top of a pot of boiling water. Melt the chocolate and the Vegan Protein Cream, and add the spiced coconut milk. Stir well to mix everything evenly.
  • Set the coconut-chocolate mix aside. Set aside to cool down. Once it is cooler, put into the fridge for at least an hour to harden.
  • Remove the mix from the fridge.
  • Ingredients:
    cocoa powder
    Spread the cocoa powder out on a small plate.
  • Use the coconut-chocolate mix to make 30 chocolate chai truffles. Roll each in cocoa powder.
